The Setup

Your client deserves a session, not a wait list.

Every commercial gym in LA caps its experience with crowding. Equipment in use. Floor noise. Members watching. None of it serves a client who's paying you for results.

The Compound is built differently. State-of-the-art equipment on a private floor. You bring your client. The space does the rest.

In Their Words

What trainers say about training here.

"

I've been working as an independent personal trainer at The Compound for several years, and it has been an excellent environment for both me and my clients. The gym has all the equipment needed for effective training, and it's always clean, organized, and well maintained.

There are always good vibes here. Paul, the owner, keeps the space friendly, respectful, and comfortable, which makes working here very enjoyable.

As a trainer, I also appreciate how private and uncrowded the gym is. It allows my clients to feel safe, calm, and confident during their sessions. Overall, it's a solid, well-run facility and a great place to work as an independent trainer.

5★ Yelp Review

I've been in the industry for almost 7 years now and have gone through a handful of "private gyms" and I must say The Compound feels like home. Everything about this gym is worth it. The equipment, environment, how clean the gym is, towel service, good music, and of course the owner Paul is the man. My clients love this gym.

Having worked in various private gyms before, I can confidently say that The Compound stands head and shoulders above the rest. I've never encountered a piece of equipment out of service. What's the difference between full-time and part-time? +

Full-time is $1,100/month flat rent in your first year, with unlimited client sessions and 24/7 access. After Year 1, monthly rent increases by $25 to $50 on your signing anniversary, well below typical commercial gym escalators. Part-time is $200/month for your first client, plus $100/month for each additional client you train. Full-time works best for trainers with established rosters of around ten clients or more, where a flat rate beats per-client pricing. Part-time works for trainers building toward that point.

How does part-time billing actually work? +

Your monthly rent is based on the number of active clients you train at The Compound. The first client is $200/month, and every additional active client adds $100/month to your bill. So three clients is $400/month, five clients is $600/month, and so on. If a client drops off your roster, your bill adjusts the following month. There's no minimum beyond your first client and no charge for sessions you don't train.

Does The Compound take a percentage of what I charge clients? +

No. Whatever you charge your clients is yours. The Compound charges rent for the space (full-time) or per-client rent (part-time). There's no commission, no revenue share, no platform cut, even when we refer clients to you. Your client billing is between you and your client.

Do my clients need to buy a Compound membership? +

No. Your clients pay you directly for the training sessions you provide, not The Compound. The only requirement is that your clients are present with you during their sessions. Clients are not permitted to use the facility solo or outside of scheduled time with you.

What if I need to leave or change my arrangement? +

As an independent contractor, you can discontinue use at any time with courteous notice. You can also switch between full-time and part-time arrangements based on what your business needs. Rent paid is non-refundable, but there's no long-term contract locking you in.

What documents do I need to provide before training clients? +

Four things: a valid driver's license or state ID, current liability insurance with The Compound listed as additional insured, your personal training certifications (NASM, ACE, NSCA, etc.), and signed waivers for both you and each client. Everything is submitted through our secure onboarding form after your walkthrough.

How does billing work? +

Trainer rent is billed through Square. You'll receive a Square invoice or payment link via email at the start of each month. Pay with any credit card, debit card, or digital wallet (Apple Pay, Google Pay). Card information is handled by Square, never stored or transmitted by The Compound directly. Your own client billing is separate, between you and your clients however you arrange it.
