Private Gym in Woodland Hills, CA
Built here. Been here. Built around the work.
The Compound opened in Woodland Hills because this is where Paul Wassily has been coaching since 2003. It sits at 20662 Ventura Blvd in Nickel Plaza, on the main corridor, easy to reach from anywhere in the West Valley, and exactly where it should be for the members who rely on it.
It's a capped private gym. That means the membership is limited by design, the floor stays open whenever you train, and you're not working around a crowd of strangers trying to use the same equipment at the same time. For Woodland Hills members who take their training seriously, that's the point.

Personal Training
Paul Wassily has been coaching in Woodland Hills since 2003.
His Over two decades his clients have included professional athletes, boxing world champion James "Lights Out" Toney, and a long roster of Woodland Hills residents working toward weight loss, strength, and performance goals.
Every session is one-on-one. Every program is built from scratch around what the member is actually trying to accomplish. Paul tracks numbers, adjusts programming based on how the body is responding, and holds the kind of consistent accountability that makes the difference between a good month and a good two years.

Common Questions

Contact Us →What is a private gym and how is it different from a commercial gym? +
A private gym caps its membership. The Compound limits how many people can join, which keeps the floor uncrowded regardless of time. Commercial gyms sell unlimited memberships, which means crowded floors and equipment waits at peak hours. The private model also typically means no long-term contracts, no annual fees, and better-maintained equipment because fewer people are using it.
How much does The Compound Gym cost in Woodland Hills? +
Solo membership is $99.99 per month with no long-term contract. No annual fees, no initiation fees on either plan. Cancel with 30 days written notice.
What are the benefits of private training compared to group classes? +
Private training means your program is built around your goals, your movement patterns, and your starting point, not a class designed for the average participant. Paul adjusts load, volume, and technique based on how you're responding week to week. Group classes offer energy but can't offer that level of individual focus. For members with specific goals or injury history, private training also allows adjustments that a group format can't accommodate.
What should I expect on my first visit to The Compound? +
A tour of the facility, a conversation about your goals and any relevant training history or physical limitations, and an introduction to how The Compound works. If you're starting a personal training program, Paul will do a brief movement assessment and outline what a phased program looks like for you. Come with questions and comfortable clothes if you'd like to try the equipment. No commitment required on the first visit.
Are there any additional costs on top of membership? +
A $10 late fee applies if monthly payment is more than 5 days late. Personal training sessions with Paul are priced separately and discussed at your initial consultation. There are no annual fees, enrollment fees, or hidden charges.
How do I cancel my Compound membership? +
Provide 30 days written notice. Membership ends 30 days from when notice is received. No cancellation fee, no penalty, no contract to break.
Can I bring a guest to The Compound? +
You can bring one guest each visit; the same person every time or a different person each visit. Your guest trains alongside you, and each new guest signs a one-time waiver on their first visit. Solo memberships don't include guest privileges.
What are the gym hours at The Compound? +
24-hour fob access Monday through Saturday. Closed Sundays for deep cleaning and equipment maintenance. Members train whenever works for them: early mornings, late nights, midday on a Tuesday. The floor and equipment are available the same way at any hour.
How do I know if Paul is the right trainer for me? +
Schedule a walkthrough and meet him. Paul's approach is straightforward: he builds a program around your specific goals and adjusts it based on results. He explains what he's doing and why. The initial consultation is the best way to assess the fit before any commitment. Most members know within the first session whether it's right for them.
