Does Personal Training Include Nutrition Coaching? What’s Included at The Compound

Does Personal Training Include Nutrition Coaching at The Compound?

By Paul Wassily, The Compound Gym

It is one of the first questions people ask on a tour. They have been training for months, the workouts are getting done, and the results have stalled. Almost always, the thing that stalled is not the training.

So here is a straight answer about what you get at The Compound, what you do not, and where the line sits.

What does personal training here actually include?

Personal training at The Compound is one-on-one. You work directly with a coach who builds your program around where you are now, what you are training for, and what your body will tolerate. Sessions get adjusted as you go, not written once and handed over.

Nutrition comes up inside that relationship. When your energy drops halfway through a session, when you are not recovering between workouts, when the scale has not moved in six weeks, food is usually part of the conversation. Your coach will talk it through with you.

Who actually delivers the coaching?

Paul Wassily founded The Compound and still trains clients himself. He has been coaching in Woodland Hills since 2003, more than twenty years, and has worked with professional athletes and public figures who came here specifically because nobody was watching.

Experience over paper. That has always been the standard here.

What nutrition guidance means here, and what it does not

Being clear about this matters more than selling you something.

What you get: practical guidance from a coach who knows your training. How to eat around your sessions. Why your recovery is suffering. What to prioritize when you are travelling or your schedule falls apart. The unglamorous fundamentals that account for most of the result.

What we do not do: we do not have a dietitian on staff, we do not write clinical meal plans, and we do not sell supplements. If you have a medical condition, a diagnosed eating disorder, or you need a therapeutic diet, we will tell you to see a registered dietitian. That is the honest answer and it is the right one.

Is it part of the membership or does it cost extra?

There is one membership at The Compound. One price, one level. There is no nutrition package to add on, no premium tier, and nothing gated behind an upsell.

If you train with a coach, nutrition is part of that conversation. It is not a separate product because it was never meant to be one.

What does it cost?

$99.99 per month, month-to-month, with no long-term contract, no initiation fees and no annual fees. There is a one-time $50 key fob charge when you join. Cancellation requires 30 days written notice.

Personal training sessions are priced separately depending on how often you train. We will walk you through it on the tour, and there is no pressure to book anything the same day.

What is the gym itself like?

Membership is capped on purpose. The room stays quiet, the equipment is free when you want it, and you are not working around anybody. Members have key fob access 24 hours a day Monday through Saturday, and the gym is closed Sundays.

For a lot of our members, that privacy is the entire reason they are here.

Do I need to be an athlete to train here?
No. Members range from people getting back into training after years off to competitors preparing for something specific. The programming meets you where you are.
